Guillermo Perales began his journey into the world of franchise ownership with a single store and an ambitious dream in 1997. Crediting a combination of “luck, hard work, and a constant quest to expand”, his Sun Holdings’ portfolio today features over 1000 locations that employ nearly 17,000 people and generate revenue of over $800 million dollars a year. Sun Holding’s stores include Burger King, Popeyes, Arby’s, Krispy Kreme, Cici’s, Golden Corral, GNC, and T-Mobile.
His impressive acquisitions have positioned Perales as the eighth largest franchise owner in the United States, and top Hispanic franchisee in the country!
Perales’ tremendous success in restaurant operations, real estate, and general management are all rooted in his commitment to education. He graduated with high honors from the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey as a CPA before moving to the United States and earning his MBA from Texas A&M University. The meteoric company growth that seemed to follow for Perales often has industry peers and colleagues calling him a “rock star” in the franchise realm. Yet, Perales remains deeply grounded and passionate about the importance of sharing his leadership and experience with new generations of entrepreneurs, especially those in the Latino business community.
GP Mobile, LLC
Adriana Perales opened her first T-Mobile store in 2009 in Dallas, TX as part of the T-Mobile estamos juntos program that was strategically engineered to serve the Hispanic community. Adriana has intimately been involved in the business from the first day as an owner operator of the stores as GP Mobile continued to grow. While ensuring the organization was operating optimally she organically GP Mobile grew slowly from 2009 to 2012 from one store to thirteen locations in the Dallas/Forth Worth market.
Perales’ growth from 2012 to day could best be described as explosive! GP Mobile has successfully grown through multiple acquisitions ranging from 1 location to 44 locations, which grew the GP Mobile brand from Texas to Kansas, Oklahoma, North and South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. Throughout the balance of 2015 and 2016 she successfully integrated the acquired companies and was able continue to drive the optimization of the company, which poised GP Mobile for a fantastic 2017! In 2017, Perales spearheaded the site selection and build out of over 60 locations within the existing 8 state footprint.
As of 2018, Perales has grown a single store operation in one city to a extremely successful 141 store operation spanning 8 states from the Midwest to the East Coast that has successfully grown through the innovation of providing over 1,000 employees with amazing tools and resources to continue to provide a environment in her stores that supports GP Mobile Mission, Vision, and Values.
